PDO Thread Lifting & Tightening

A non-surgical facelift

We, at Purity Wellness Center, are thrilled to offer the PDO absorbable Thread Lifting & Tightening procedure to our clients which safely and instantly lifts loose skin on the face, neck and the body with minimal downtime.

The PDO Thread Lift procedure is one of the most effective ways to lift loose skin without surgery. As we age, the effects of gravity become more noticeable on our faces, especially as our facial support structure weakens and we lose facial fat. The areas that are generally affected are the eyebrows, areas around the eyes, the cheeks, jowls and neck.

What are PDO Threads and how do they work?

PDO Threads are hypodermic instruments preloaded with a synthetic PDO absorbable suture. PDO (polydioxanone) sutures are FDA-approved and are by far one of the safest materials that can be used in the body. Your skin will fully absorb the threads within 4 to 6 months without leaving any scar tissue.

While the sutures are underneath the skin, your skin gently reacts creating a “selective inflammatory response” producing collagen which creates longer-lasting results. This same principle is behind a lot of aesthetic procedures such as fractioned lasers, skin tightening treatments and Microneedling. Our skin is excellent at repairing itself and by inserting the PDO Threads underneath the loose skin, the skin will lift and heal itself naturally by creating new collagen.

Am I a good candidate for PDO Thread Lift?

For the right candidate, the PDO Thread Lift can provide a pleasing, natural rejuvenation of the face with the benefit of no general anesthesia, rapid recovery and a very minimal cost compared to facelift or necklift procedures. PDO Thread Lift may be combined with other minor treatments such as Botox, Injectable Fillers, Microneedling or skin resurfacing lasers.

Ideal candidates for the PDO Thread Lift are people with minimal signs of aging who need a small lift. Good candidates are those patients who are starting to see some droopiness of the brow, cheeks, jowls and/or neck and would like to see a lift effect.

What areas can be treated with PDO Thread Lift?

Nasolabial Folds | Eyelids | Crow’s feet | Glabella | Smokers line | Arch of the eyebrows | Facial Profile | Periocular area | Abdomen | Arm Breast | Hip Hands | Neck and Chest | Buttocks | Armpit | Knees |

How is the PDO Thread Lift performed?
    1. The areas to be treated will be numbed with a topical, as well as a local anesthetic, then marked.
    2. The PDO Threads are then inserted under the skin in precise locations using a small hollow needle to lift and support droopy elements. The inserted thread is then able to grasp onto the loose skin and soft tissue for repositioning. This requires no cuts or incisions, it’s purely done by injections.
    3. With the lift effect secured, the hollow needle is removed.
    4. The PDO suture remains underneath the skin.
    5. Multiple PDO Threads may be used depending upon the area(s) you need lifted and the effect desired.
What is the recovery like after a PDO Thread Lift?

Pain can usually be managed with acetaminophen (Tylenol) and/or Ibuprofen (Advil). If stronger medicine is needed, it may be prescribed by our physician. Mild swelling and/or bruising the first few days post-treatment may occur. Icing the treated area is recommended. Additionally, we recommend avoiding strenuous activity for the first several days post-treatment to assist with the healing process.

What kind of results can I expect after the PDO Lift?

The result of the PDO Thread Lift is immediate and even more noticeable after 1-2 weeks when any potential swelling and/or bruising has subsided. The results will continue to enhance over the next several months due to increased collagen production and the PDO absorbable threads will completely disappear 6 months post-procedure. The lifted facial contour will remain for 12-15 months after the procedure, due to the stimulation of skin cells to produce new collagen along with new blood vessels to improve skin microcirculation. At the same time, the PDO threads cause the fat tissue to contract and produce the skin tightening effect

What are the side effects of the PDO Thread Lift?

Like any procedure using a needle, there is a chance of bruising and swelling. However, in most people the bruising and swelling is minimal and resolves in less than a week. There is some post-op discomfort which usually resolves quickly in most patients. If the sutures, for some reason become visible underneath the skin or migrate, they can be easily removed and new threads can be placed.
