Microneedling with PRP/Exosomes

Microneedling with PRP/Exosomes

Microneedling, or collagen induction therapy, is a minimally invasive treatment used to rejuvenate your skin. Using a tiny, pen-like device with fine needles, small punctures are created in the top layer of the skin, which triggers the body to create new collagen and elastin. In other words, it promotes active skin renewal, encouraging the body to firm and tighten the skin around these “micro-injuries”.

What can Microneedling do for your skin?
  • Reduce and smooth fine lines and wrinkles in the face
  • Repair acne scars
  • Reverse pigmentation and sun damage
  • Reduce the signs of aging
  • Shrink pores
  • Supercharges the penetration of your skin care products
Microneedling with PRP/Exosomes

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP), or exosomes, has been in use for years to help speed recovery from sports injuries. PRP is a concentration of platelets in the blood that are crucial to wound healing. When used for skin rejuvenation, Platelet-Rich Plasma utilizes your body’s own materials to create a serum which increases the growth factors of your skin and expedites your body’s repair process. These growth factors are important for new cell generation and creating new collagen along with elastic fibers. While Microneedling initiates the skin’s natural ability to heal itself, PRP represents a way to enhance the healing of your skin while increasing the growth factors. The two therapies work in synergy to create a treatment that brings better results than each part could do alone.

Microneedling with Exosomes

Exosomes are responsible for cell to cell communication. This serum unlocks your cells to send in vitamins, minerals, stem cells, growth factors, peptides and more! This leads to faster healing after Microneedling PLUS even more stimulation and regeneration of collagen and elastin.

What does the treatment involve?

First, we apply a numbing cream to the area of focus. While you are numbing, if you plan to use PRP, your provider will withdraw a small amount of blood from your arm to centrifuge the blood so only the enriched cells or blood platelets remain. After the numbing process is complete, we use a device for Microneedling, which creates hundreds of tiny channels in the skin to enhance the growth factors. During the creation of those channels or micro-injuries your provider will thinly apply your own processed PRP serum or the serum provided to help intensify the repair and rejuvenation of your skin while the pen is glided across the area to be repaired in a gentle motion. PRP can also be injected intra-dermally into areas of your face that require more significant correction (cheeks, nasal-labial folds, marionette lines).

How long is the treatment and how many treatments will I need?

Treatment time is roughly one hour and treatment protocols vary from patient to patient. We generally advise that patients over the age of 40 will need a course of 3 to 6 treatments spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart for optimal results, depending on their indications. Younger patients may only need 1 to 2 treatments, while some patients may require more based on their overall skin appearance. Patients typically begin to see results after 2 treatments as new collagen is produced. By repeating this treatment, as recommended by your practitioner and following a healthy skincare regimen at home, you can dramatically improve your skins overall appearance.

What will my skin look like after treatment?

Immediately following the treatment, your face may be swollen and red for 1 to 2 days. The results will improve over the next few days and weeks as your body’s natural collagen production has been stimulated and will continue to improve for up to 6 months after your final treatment.

Microneedling with or without PRP/Exosomes is available to adults who want to improve the overall appearance of their skin and is a safe and effective treatment for all skin types. The depth of the Microneedling will be adjusted for each individual and the body areas to be treated.
